The back of the house siding came down today and surprise, there’s no proper framing or plywood sheeting underneath. So we’re going to re-frame the entire back of the house, put in new plywood sheeting and either asphalt paper or Tyvek and then install the new door and windows. And some recesses in the wall for insulation on the inside. Chalk up some more budget damage to the reliable old house feature of mystery wall contents. Sheesh.
The back of the house now won’t be done until Monday at the earliest, I think. The good news is that we have all the HardiePlank and trim waiting with the door and windows inside for installation.
