Stripping the column caps, before and after

These column caps have been especially stubborn to get the paint fully removed. Here’s a before and after of what I think was the 3rd coat of stripper from yesterday and this morning. Hopefully just one more round on here, but I think there may be some spots that get a 5th round, like the places remaining on the steps.

Though it’s less important to get every last bit of paint off of these because a) they’ll be getting painted rather than stained (which will let dark spots show through) and b) these are areas that don’t get foot traffic and are therefore less likely to chip and peel. I just guess I’m a completionist about it.
